Summary:

The book Hanging on to Max by Margaret Bechard, is true a life story about what happens to teenagers when they get involved with sex. Sam, one of the main characters in this book and also the father of 11 month old Max, has had his life changed dramatically by this action. Sam started out his senior year looking forward to being captain of the football team, going to parties, and just having fun and memorable moments with his best friend Andy. This future that Sam had put before him was all about to change within a night. Right after Max was born, Sam’s girlfriend, Britney, moved away, leaving Sam to raise Max by himself. Now, Sam doesn’t think that he is able to take care of his child any longer and has to make the toughest decision of his life. Will Sam give Max up for adoption to make a better life for him and his son?

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read fictional stories. Hanging on to Max is a book filled with many lessons that teen parents have to face. Sex is something that many teens get involved with. This book tells the results of this action and how it can change one's life dramatically

Opinion:

This book is filled with many very important lessons about the decisions that you choose to make. It is something that I would definitely recommend teens to read before getting themselves into something that they may end up regretting. Bechard takes you deep into the life of a teen parent and places you in the hardship of their world and emotions.
